Rock Creek Renegades muzzleloading club
was established in 1982 and moved from the original location near Davey
to property northeast of Sprague, Nebraska and southwest of Lincoln,
which was purchased by the club in 2005.
The club has established 25, 50, 75 and 100 yard ranges, a
muzzleloading shotgun range, hawk and knife targets and fine camping
areas. A log cabin has been built for scoring targets and an archery
range and council fire area enhance the grounds. Salt Creek meanders
through the wooded area and carts are provided to transport camping and
shooting gear across the bridge. Water and firewood are available.
The Club hosts a Winter shoot in February, Spring and Fall
Muzzleloading Shotgun Sporting Clay Shoots in April and September, a
Spring shoot in April and a Fall "Fowl" Shoot in October. Only
traditional patched, round ball weapons are allowed in competition.
Modern and Black Powder Gun Shows and Early American Trade Fairs
featuring historically appropriate items from the Fur Trade through
the Victorian Eras are held the last weekend in January and the last
weekend in September. These events provide operating expenses as well
as promoting the organization, the sport of muzzleloading and early
American history.
